Breaking the Stigma on Mental Health

Baguio City, Philippines

July 26 – August 8, 2020

SEALNet Project Philippines 2020 is a two-week program to empower local students in Baguio City to be effective mental health advocates through equipping them with leadership skills and mental health knowledge as a foundation to suicide prevention awareness in the city.

Approach and Management Plan

Valuing the importance of the twin pillars of SEALNet-Leadership and Service, this project is both a youth empowerment and suicide prevention initiative. It aims to develop the international mentors, local mentees, and college students in Baguio with a service leadership mindset and be ready to make changes in their own communities. Therefore, mentees will be responsible for implementing the community service in two of our partners in the targeted universities by utilizing community visits and conversations directly with the beneficiaries, hence allowing them to deeply understand the track they would be directed towards for the community project.
